Visit from Sergeant Walker

We had one more visitor today - Sergeant Curtis Walker from the National Guard answered some second grade questions about what it is like to serve our country.

Meghan celebrated her birthday right before Christmas on the 23rd.

Way behind: November Birthdays

Keith and Haley celebrated birthdays in November. Keith's birthday was on the 7th and Haley's was on the 30th!

Science: Balance and Motion

While I'm at it, I might as well do a few more updates. In science, we did a unit on balance and motion. The students really enjoyed making a "roller coaster" for a marble to travel through.

Listening for a heartbeat

The students all got to listen to Cody's heartbeat with a stethoscope.

Veterinarian Dr. Bock

Alex's dad also came in to talk about what he does as a veterinarian. He brought in a special guest with him too - their dog, Cody.

Visit from Officer Dierks

We are studying community helpers in social studies. Sara's dad, Officer Dierks was kind enough to visit out classroom, tell us a little bit about what it is like to be a police officer, and answer some of our questions. He also showed us all the tools that he carries with him each night. He said that his belt plus his vest adds 25 pounds to him!
