Tin Quill & Ghost Writer
Tin Quill and Ghost Writer are at Disney World. Tin Quill wakes up with Ghost Writer, the T-rex, right in front of him. Tin Quill flies over to a power line. Tin Quill flies off the power line, but Ghost Writer wants to chomp him to bits, so he dives at the power line and gets shocked. ZAP!!
Tin Quill is still trying to get away from Ghost Writer. He doesn’t want to be his lunch. Tin Quill decides to get on the fastest roller coaster called Super Coaster. Ghost Writer follows him onto Super Coaster. Then Tin Quill flies out of the roller coaster when it comes out of the tunnel. Ghost Writer bumps his head on metal and falls out.
Ghost Writer falls down, crashes his head, and changes his mind. He’s not so hungry for a bird after all. He asks if Tin Quill wants to come to lunch with him, not BE his lunch. And they became good friends.

Getting to know each other
We are in the first full week of school and really starting to get to know our classmates. One activity we have done is write about the "Best Part of Me." I wish I could post all the students' writing because they were all so good and unique. I have chosen three to publish on our blog. Enjoy.

Meet Miss Wood
I am so excited to be a part of the 2nd grade team at Lisbon! I can't wait to learn all about you, but first I'm going to tell you a few things about me.
I grew up outside of Oxford, Iowa on a farm. My parents, Ann and Bob, still live there today. I am the youngest of three. My brother, Ryan, is a police officer in Iowa City. My sister, Katie, is a vet tech in Oxford. Katie has a daughter named Hayden, who is four years old. She is my only niece but Katie is expecting another baby girl in November!!
I went to Clear Creek Amana High School in Tiffin. I ran track and cross country there. I graduated in 2004 and went on to Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. I really enjoyed my time at Luther!! I was a part of the cross country team there. I graduated from Luther in 2008 with a major in elementary education. I then spent one year as a long term substitute in a first grade classroom in North Liberty. You will be a part of my first "official" class!!
